Casino Advice For A Beginner Going To Vegas!?
Ive been to casinos a few times and I went to Macau last year but I would really appreciate some tips as I went with my bf who pretty much took care of everything…. Please can someone give tips on going to casinos? i.e where to go to change money and how much are you supposed to change into chips/tokens each time (I know if depends how much you wanna play but whats the norm?)
what are the kind of rules and etiquettes when playing? I know how to play blackjack and baccarat and roulette but are there any rules i.e is it rude to stand around, how to wait ur turn etc? Also I think there are some hand signals you need to give for blackjack to signify whether you want more cards or not? Are there hand signals for every game?
Also I hear they give free drinks when you gamble…. Is that true? How do you get them? and how do they know what you want? Does some girl just come round?
Are casinos in vegas open 24/7? can you smoke inside?
Thanks for any help!

Yes you must give hand signals in Blackjack. While playing dice, always know where the dice are, so you dont have your hand down as the dice are thrown your way. Always respect the dealer, (they are at work ya know). Just have fun, dont try to make money, just play and enjoy yourself.
U can buy chips at the tables.
Drinks are free, but make sure you tip the waitresses!
When you play at a table game, make sure to get a few $1 chips so you can tip the waitress AND the dealers! These people only make minimum wage and expect tips for service. You can bet the tip with your bet, or you can just give it to the dealer (ask what the perfer).
Dont forget to tip the bellman that takes your bags, $1 per bag.
Dont forget to tip the cab driver $2.
Dont forget to tip the buffet servers $1 per person.
As, you can tell, there are alot of people that rely on tipping. When in doubt, tip!
Changing money: To get chips, you bring your cash to the table you want to play at, place the cash on the table (the dealer cannot take cash out of your hand), and receive your chips.
To get cash, bring the chips to one of the cashier cages. The dealer at the blackjack table cannot give you cash, but he can “color up” your chips (take your 20 $5 chips and give you a single $100 chip)
For most games, don’t buy more than about 20-40 times what you plan to bet per hand. If you lose all of that, then think before you buy more.
Yes, just about every Casino and gaming establishment is open 24-7 (sometimes even when there is some emergency and they really should be closed).
Yes, you can smoke at just about every place in Vegas.
There are a few places that have a Non-Smoking Section so watch out for those.
Tipping is entirely up to you. I’ve seen people who tip nothing to the Cocktail Waitresses, some that tip Coins and I think the standard is $1 or $2, depending on how manyu drinks they bring you at a time. Word of caution…most of the free drinks are not the very best…for instance, cokes tend to be in 4-6oz glasses, totally watered down and 75% ice. Anything that comes OPEN and in a glass…is most likely WATERED DOWN or of the cheapest quality. Also, the better you tip, generally, the faster the service you will get.
You change money at the CASHIER area (the cage). Most casinos have multiple cages. They always have huge signs…hard to miss.
Definitely sign up for Player’s Cards at any casino you spend money at. The incentives you get in the mail could cover your next trip !!
If you are looking for things to do besides gambling, pick up a free coupon book at just about any gas station, ftrip mall or grocery store…you’ll find plenty. I recommend the helicopter tours…some are really inexpensive, depending on time and demand, of course. I once took a ride for $45 !! It was well worth it !
Also, show tickets and VIP passes to clubs and such:http://7jm.net/VegasVIPpasses
I always get my casino goodies, books etc at this website:http://www.mydealpoker.com
Even if you don’t plan on putting out big dollars, sign up for the Players Clubs cards. They have some nice comps even for the low dollar gamblers. My wife and I saty at the Mirage every time we go out. Love it! Good Luck!
